"Welcome and thank you for visiting our website. You've made the first step towards a life without the aid of contacts or glasses - so congratulations. The decision to undergo laser vision correction is an important and exciting possibility, but the information made available via new technology can be overwhelming. Our hope, at the Williamson Eye Center, is to make sure you are provided with the most current and up-to-date information regarding all of the various options for vision correction surgery.
Of course, as in the diverse world we live in, no two people and no two eyes are alike. We appreciate these differences and have learned, through years of practice in the greater Baton Rouge area, to approach each opportunity objectively in order to meet the patient's expectation. Some patients will appreciate a detailed description of the technology we use, while others prefer not to know any of the particulars. We can provide any level of understanding necessary to ensure you are making an informed decision regarding your vision.
The only way to determine the best procedure for you is a thorough diagnostic examination with an eye doctor. If you decide to visit any of our locations in the greater Baton Rouge area, you will see first-hand how we counsel and examine our patients regarding the best options for their particular condition. I hope this website is informative and helpful in your research of these procedures and all we have to offer."
Regards,
Dr. Charles Williamson
A Legacy of Excellence
The Williamson Eye Center was founded 50 years ago when William N. "Doc" Williamson began his practice in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Following his legacy, all four of his sons went into medical practice together.
Over the last half century, the Williamson Eye Center has grown to become one of the largest medical practices in the south, including four offices, a surgery center, a laser center, 100 employees and
11 doctors.
Now recognized as a national leader in eye care, the Williamson Eye Center built the first eye surgery center in Louisiana in 1984, has pioneered many of the
cataract and implant surgical techniques used throughout the United States, and established the first laser vision center for correction of vision disorders here in Baton Rouge.
